You won one race in your Bug. Then a number you didn't know called.

It's Eyes. He saw you drive from satellite, and he has a delivery that needs a driver. The order is weed, and the Hempers want it. They used to drive for him. Now they rob his runs, and they'll ram you, spin you out and box you in to take it.

Bug Out is an arcade racer with a PS1 look. Open roads, shortcuts, barns to smash straight through, and a run to the border with a gang on your tail.

What is in it

An open world to learn the roads in. 6 areas joined by 7 public roads: a race loop in every area, a sprint along every road both ways, and 7 barns to find and smash, once in a race and once out on the road.

The run. Every run is a new map stitched together from 13 hand-made areas, 4 or 5 columns of them, with an easy road and a hard road at every fork. The hard ones have lava, ice, a sandstorm, and cops the Hempers pay to watch for you.

Races pay while you're on the run, but the heat keeps rising while you race. If the Hempers find you mid-race, drive off the course and keep what you grabbed on the way.

A garage to spend it in. Engine, tyres, a bigger boost tank, homing missiles, and a ram bumper that smashes through roadblocks.

The Bug does 120 mph, 150 upgraded. Drift, boost, draft behind other cars, and hold the handbrake to whip round when you've missed the turn.

Every escape over the border unlocks a little more of Eyes' story. Ten runs to the end of it.

Something is hidden on every run map.

2 to 4 players on one pc

Split-screen. Race each other on any course, or go on the run together: one of you carries the order, the rest race for cash to set the crew up for the next run. Get caught and the Hempers take what you made. A teammate can pull up beside you and get you back out.

Players 3 and 4 need controllers.

Pay what you want

It's the whole game, not a demo. Pay what you think it's worth, or nothing. Nothing in it is behind money.

The limits, before you decide

I use AI tools in making my games. I'd rather you knew that before you decide than after.

Windows only. The download is about 400 MB.

No online play. The multiplayer is split-screen on one PC.

It takes about ___ hours to reach the end.

If you get to the end, tell me what you think happened to Eyes.
